About Us
Established in 1984, Home Coaching is a home based tuition business in Turramurra, independently owned and operated by Paul and Gemma Couch, both of whom are qualified and experienced teachers. With much dedication the tutoring business has now grown into a well-known and reputable centre drawing from both the local area and afar.
We offer tutoring services for Primary and Secondary students from Year 5 through to Year 12. Our main focuses for Secondary students are Mathematics for Years 7 through to Year 12 and Chemistry for Years 11 and 12. For Primary students our focus is Mathematics for Years 5 and 6.
Alongside the tutoring, Paul has also taught at one of North Shore’s leading high schools over the past 20 years and continues to do so. In this capacity he assists students in their understanding and application of Mathematics. With the changing syllabi, particularly in the senior courses, new challenges are being met by students and teachers alike.

Lessons
Here at Home Coaching we follow the term and holiday dates of the NSW Department of Education.
We offer four types of tuition lessons – Group, Pairs, Private or Casual Lessons
For continuity of education our group lessons are designed around the syllabus of each year group. For us to deliver the best coaching support for our students alongside their current school syllabus, we recommend enrolling for a full term (approx. 10 lessons).
Our Group lessons start at $47 for an hour session.

Term 3 2021 Mathematics and Chemistry Group Lessons
Please note that this timetable is a guide only. The times and allocation of lessons may vary from this this timetable. The group lesson times are very flexible to accomodate your needs.
Please discuss with Paul any queries you have about lesson time availability. Morning private lessons are available before school by arrangement with Paul. As the year proceeds further group lessons may be added to timetable.
We are very flexible and happy to accommodate a variety of tutoring needs-
Small Group Lessons
Group sizes are kept small with approximately 2-6 students per group.
Students have the option of working on their own choice of topics and tasks or, alternatively, they can work on a given topic where worksheets are provided.
The flexibility of group tuition allows students to catch up on missed lessons provided they are done during the same term. It also allows students to have additional lessons close to tests and examinations.
Private Lessons
Private lessons are a one on one arrangement for just one student.
Pairs Lessons
Pairs lessons are for two students only. If you wish to have this arrangement you can join with a friend or sibling.
Casual Lessons
Casual lessons are lessons which are not done as a whole term set of lessons, whether they be Group, Pairs or Private.
School Holiday Workshops
During each of the school holiday breaks, we conduct optional workshops in Mathematics and Chemistry here at our premises. These are usually held in the first week of the holidays. However, this can be subject to change. Those students wishing to attend some extra tuition in the school holidays may come for as little as one or all of the workshops. The workshops run for two hours per day from Monday to the Friday of that holiday week.
These sessions provide a great opportunity for students to catch up on any areas of concern and address any individual needs, to work through past exam papers in order to practise exam techniques, develop time management skills or to do general revision and get ahead for the new term.
The school holiday workshops are a separate arrangement to the term tuition. They are an additional offer of tuition separate in structure, attendance and fees to the term classes. Therefore, as the holiday workshops are not interchangeable with term lessons, they cannot be used as catch-up lessons for missed term lessons.
All lessons are held at our premises in Turramurra.

Fees are provided on application. (Our Group lessons start at $47 for an hour session.)
Two fee rates are offered for all lessons.
“Early Bird” fee if paid by the end of week 1 of the term (* or when tuition commences)
“Regular” fee if paid after Week 1 of the term.
New students who enrol after Week 1 pay only for the number of weeks left in the term.
If a student cannot attend their group lesson the full fee still applies. A catch-up lesson can be done at another group lesson time.
If a student cannot attend their private or pairs lesson the full fee still applies. The lesson may be caught up at a group lesson time.
Catch-up lessons need to be within the same term. Exceptions may apply.

Accounts are only sent to those who have not paid “Early Bird”.
An administration fee of $25 will be incurred if the invoice is not paid by the due date and a subsequent invoice needs to be sent.
All costs and charges incurred by Home Coaching to recover unpaid fees will be passed on to the customer.
